Art Society of Strathcona County

Friday, February 28th, 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm and Saturday, March 1st, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm

at the A. J. Ottewell Centre, 590 Broadmoor Bvld., Sherwood Park

Do you want to get a better understanding of the fundamentals of digital photography? This workshop is designed for those who want to get a better grasp of their camera functions and learn how to create the photograph, not just click the shutter and hope for the best. Leslie will show you how to take control of your camera, allowing you to get the images that you want.

On the Friday evening at the A. J. Ottewell Centre, Leslie will help you understand the important camera settings and what some of those buttons, dials and menus on your camera do. She will talk about exposure and when to use your aperture or shutter speed modes, and provide an introduction to composition to help you create better photographs.

On Saturday morning we will go out and practice with our cameras, then return to the Ottewell Centre (Red Barn) for discussion, questions and a demonstration on digital workflow and image processing with your images in imaging software such as Adobe Lightroom or Adobe Photoshop.

Those interested in taking this workshop should have a DSLR camera or a compact digital camera that has the ability to shot in manual, aperture or shutter speed priority modes.

By the end of this workshop you should have a better grasp of your camera and a good start on creating stronger images.
